About

Funding and donors

BrainGain.Expert has no endowment and no independent source of funds. Every program, Fellow engagement and grant is made possible by governments, foundations, companies and individuals who choose to support the work.

How we are
funded

Contributions pay for what makes expertise work as aid: matching businesses with the right Fellows, paid project work, grants that follow results and the platform that holds it together.

01

Governments and public institutions

Governments, development agencies and public funders can finance programs in specific countries, co-fund grants and back recovery priorities. All public support is voluntary and never decides who we help.

02

Foundations and companies

Program sponsorship, cash gifts and in-kind technology for the BrainGain.Expert Resource Pool: credits, licences, tools and expertise.

03

Individuals

Whether you have worked in a fragile economy or simply believe expertise is aid, your gift helps a local business get the people it needs.

Funding
principles

Six commitments that guide every contribution we accept.

01

Need-led. Funding follows what businesses need, not what is easiest to show.

02

Independent matching. Donors can choose a program or country, but never individual businesses or Fellows. Matching stays with the program team.

03

Results before grants. Grants go to businesses that have completed the program and put the changes into practice.

04

Transparent use. We report how funds are used at platform and program level, including the cost per business supported.

05

Restricted or flexible. Gifts can be restricted to a program. Flexible gifts go where the need is greatest at that moment.

06

Clean money. We do not accept funding from sources under EU, UN, UK and US sanctions, or from any source that conflicts with our ethics.

What your support makes possible

Every contribution is tracked from the gift to the result and reported in aggregate, so no business is exposed without its consent.

How a contribution works

Four steps from your gift to a published result.

01

Give

Donate, sponsor a program or contribute technology, as an individual, a company or a foundation.

02

Allocate

Restricted gifts go to the program you chose. Flexible gifts go where the need is greatest.

03

Deliver

Fellows work with businesses on defined problems, and grants follow results that are already in place.

04

Report

We report what your support changed, with independent evaluation published in full.

Contribution and funding reports

Our first funding summary and annual report will be published once Program 01 is complete, in Reports & documentation.

Become a founding donor

Fund expertise where it rebuilds an economy.

Founding donors and partners shape how BrainGain.Expert grows. Governments and public funders can finance a country program, individuals and companies can give once or monthly, and technology partners can contribute in kind. We will tell you exactly what your support changed.
